Alex Rodriguez & Jennifer Lopez Reportedly Taking Big Steps To Buy The NY Mets!
Looks like former New York Yankees player Alex Rodriguez and fiancee Jennifer Lopez are serious about buying the New York Mets!
According to Variety, the power couple have taken real steps to try and buy the baseball team. Apparently, they’ve retained JPMorgan Chase to raise capital so they can make a serious offer.

Now, although both Arod and JLo are worth millions, TMZ reports that the Mets are not cheap. The news site notes that hedge fund superstar Steve Cohen was real close to buying 80% of the team in a deal valued at $2.6 BILLION, but it fell through. Even with their big bank accounts, the couple would still need to raise some serious dough.
The two are working with managing director Eric Menell, the bank’s co-head of North American media investment banking. Menell didn’t respond to the outlets request to comment on these reports nor did Arod or JLo publicly speak out on this latest move.
As Variety points out it isn’t uncommon for an athlete, entertainer or celebrity to hold a limited position in a professional sports team as A-Rod’s former teammate, Derek Jeter, for instance, is a part owner of baseball’s Miami Marlins.
