In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson talks about her upcoming plans as she prepares to head off to college. While she’s gearing up to embark her new journey, she’s making sure to have her boo join her every step of the way.
Speaking to the outlet, the 17-year-old reality star said her 21-year-old boyfriend, Dralin Carswell will be packing his bags to follow her to a university in Denver. She told the outlet, “I’ll be moving off campus for security reasons and because Dralin is coming with me.”
As excited as she is to pursue a degree in nursing, Alana says her boyfriend is even more thrilled. “I think he’s more excited to move there than me,” she said. “He’s ready to move out of our small town and experience something new, too.” She added, “I think it’ll be good for us honestly and I mean, I think it will be fun,” she concluded. “Even though I’m moving halfway across the country, it’ll be good for me,” ET quotes.
Although she seems to have her college plans figured out she’s not jumping the gun when it comes to her plans with her bf of three years. When asked if she thinks that he’s “the one?” She honestly replied, “I can’t say that [he’s the one] because I don’t know what life holds — any day now, anything can happen — but I mean, I hope,” she said. She also addressed starting a family down the line. “I don’t want kids, but he wants kids,” she elaborated.
Thompson first shared her excitement about school earlier this month in an interview with PEOPLE. She said at the time, “I am ready. I think that it is definitely going to be a different journey, but I think I’m ready for it,” she says. “I don’t know if the cameras will be following me just yet. Y’all are just going to really have to wait and see what happens.”

Back in May, she graduated from high school and her milestone moment made her mother Mamma June very emotional.
In a sweet post dedicated to her daughter, Shannon wrote, “Well today Alana closed one chapter of her life n I know we have been through ALOT and I know the road hasn’t been an easy one for you for one but girl u done it,” Shannon wrote in an Instagram post caption, alongside a video featuring a video from her daughter’s big day. She added, “We all know u was over getting up early n going to school, and even what we have been through in the last few years u never quit or gave up and I’m so very proud of YOU for that.”
