Alabama State Football Suspends One Of Their Players Indefinitely For Punching Security Guard In The Face

Looks like an Alabama State corner back has been suspended indefinitely after viral footage shows him putting the paws on a security guard over the weekend. Alabama State was taking on Florida A&M and they came up short losing 23-10 in the SWAC east matchup.

In the footage you can see the player having a back and forth with the opposing crowd after the game and while things began to get intense, a security was trying to stop the player from getting close to the crowd. The player then hit the security guard right in his face and the security guard was seen holding his face for the remainder of the video. Alabama State University Athletic Director Dr. Jason Cable issued the following statement in light of the postgame incident:

Alabama State releases a statement suspending their Wide Receiver, Jacob Freeman indefinitely after he struck a Florida A&M security guard. “We are aware of the incident that occurred last night following our game against Florida A&M University in Tallahassee involving an Alabama State University football student-athlete. “We do not condone the actions of the student-athlete, nor are the actions representative of the expectations set forth by the Athletic Department and our University. “There is zero tolerance for this type of behavior. The student-athlete has been suspended indefinitely from the football program, effective immediately.”

Alabama is home to several football teams, both at the college and professional levels. The most prominent football program in the state is the University of Alabama Crimson Tide, which competes in the NCAA’s Southeastern Conference (SEC). The Crimson Tide football team is one of the most successful and storied programs in college football history. They have won numerous national championships and have a passionate fan base.
