The incident occurred on March 9 during an Alaska Airlines flight from Seattle to Denver when Landon Grier, 24, refused to follow mask protocols after a flight attendant asked him to put on a mask. Another passenger later told another flight attendant that they witnessed Grier urinating near his seating area. FBI Special Agent Martin Daniel III wrote in the arrest affidavit that Grier explained during the interview that he had several beers and several shots before boarding the flight. Additionally, he also attacked one of the flight attendants and Grier is facing a federal charge of interfering with a flight attendant and passengers.

Grier claims he has no memory of the incident and made a court appearance on Thursday for his case. He was released on a $10,000 bond and is expected to appear in court on March 26.
