Ahmaud Arbery’s mother wants the death penalty for her son’s killers. She believes they should recieve the same punishment since they decided to take his life away.
TMZ reports Wanda Cooper-Jones expressed her feelings surrounding her son’s tragic death after she was asked on TMZ Live if she believes the father-son duo should receive capital punishment for their crime. Wanda expressed that she wants prosecutors to seek the death penalty for Travis and Gregory McMichael.

Additionally, she wants all people involved in Ahmaud’s death to be prosecuted to the highest extent. During the interview, Wanda was able to disclose what was told her by authorities but it was muted. She also had a meeting with newly appointed prosecutor Joyette Holmes but Wanda’s lawyer, Lee Merritt, did not want her to reveal too much information about their meeting.
The two appear to be on the same page about getting justice for Ahmaud and the state of Georgia does indeed have the death penalty. TMZ noted it can be sought after “if the capital offense was outrageously or wantonly vile, horrible, or inhuman in that it involved torture, the depravity of mind, or an aggravated battery to the victim.”
