Ahmaud Arbery Murder Suspects Had Similar Confrontation Nearly 2 Weeks Before Shooting
A man named Diego Perez claims Ahmaud Arbery murder suspects, Gregory McMichael, 64, and Travis McMichael, 34, reportedly had a similar confrontation nearly 2 weeks before the tragic shooting of the 25-year-old jogger. He believes, a man he and the McMichaels confronted 12 days earlier, was in-fact Arbery.
On February 11, Perez, who claims he did not know the McMichaels until that day, allegedly came face-to-face with a young black man in their Brunswick, GA neighborhood, who was trespassing on a construction site. Perez, who also at the scene after Arbery was shot on February 23, says he was notified by the property owner, Larry English who was two hours away, that someone had triggered a motion-sensor, and wanted him to check it out. Armed, Perez went to do so, and on his way saw Travis driving up to the home and approaching the man before he walked up.

Perez says Travis called police around 7:30PM to report the trespasser as an unknown “lighter-skinned black male,” wearing a red shirt and white pants. Perez says when Travis went to face the man, the trespasser reached for his waistband, which caused Travis to leave and return to the site with his father, Gregory, who was armed, and also put a call into the Glynn County police.
Additionally, Perez says when he approached the construction site, he hadn’t found any evidence of the young man being there. He adds that on the footage sent to him by English, the young man had been seen in other security camera videos months before. He tells, police, “All we knew about him was that he was the guy who kept showing up on our cameras. No one knew who it was.”
He concludes by saying he again saw the man on February 23, only this time motionless, laying dead on the pavement with gunshot wounds in his chest.
