Apple TV+ celebrated the season two premiere of “The Afterparty” at the Bruin Theater in Los Angeles on Wednesday June 28. Talent on the red carpet included Tiffany Haddish (“Detective Danner”),Zoë Chao (“Zoe”), Sam Richardson (“Aniq”), Poppy Liu(“Grace”), Vivian Wu (“Vivian”), Ken Jeong (“Feng”), John Cho (“Ulysses”), Anna Konkle (“Hannah”),Elizabeth Perkins (“Isabel”), Jack Whitehall(“Sebastian”), Zach Woods (“Edgar”), Paul Walter Hauser (“Travis”), Chris Miller (Executive Producer/Co-Showrunner), Phil Lord (Executive Producer), Anthony King (Executive Producer, Co-Showrunner), and many more.
This time around “The Afterparty” follows a different character’s account of a whodunnit murder that crashes a wedding! This time the victim is the groom and every guest, including the bride is a suspect. Detective Danner (Haddish) returns to help Aniq (Richardson) and Zoë (Chao) solve whodunnit by questioning family members, star-crossed lovers and business partners, and hearing each suspect’s retelling of the weekend, each with their own unique perspective and visual style.
The series continues to soar with more laughs than before and relatable moments and a character for everyone to latch on to!
As with season 1 the show hits several genres and makes it easy to binge watch because each episode is unique and from a different perspective. The lovable odd mannerisms, crazy tales and character ensemble mesh together to make a great show. We can’t wait to see what murder and madness takes over season 3!
