Yaaas! Africa was in the building at the 2023 NBA All-Star Game In Salt Lake City, Utah on Sunday (February 19). Afrobeats took over the halftime show with performances by Nigerian superstars Burna Boy, Tems and Rema!

Afrobeats Takes Over 2023 NBA All-Star Game As Burna Boy, Tems & Rema Shut Down Halftime Show
The 72nd NBA All-Star Game, which was led by Team LeBron James and Team Giannis Antetokounmpo, ended its second quarter and took a star-studded musical break, welcoming Afrobeats stars Burna Boy, Tems and Rema took to the center stage at the Vivint Arena.
It is reported that the NBA was celebrating Africa’s Global Contributions with their All-Star game performers; in addition to the and the league’s partnership with FIBA in creating the Basketball Africa League.

Welcoming the stars to the stage was Toronto Raptors player Pascal Siakam, who is from Cameroon.
The show opened with Burna Boy, who performed some of his hits like “Anybody,” “It’s Plenty,” and “Last Last.” Rema then performed to an excited crowd with his renditions of “Calm Down” and “Holiday.”
Tems then closed the performance with a medley of her hits, “Crazy Tings,” “Free Mind,” and her verse from fellow Afrobeats star Wizkid’s “Essence,” and Future’s “Wait For U.”
Prior to the tip-off of the 2023 All-Star Game, U.S. rapper Post Malone performed some of his own songs, like “Wow” and “Rockstar.” While performing the latter song, he ended up bringing out rapper 21 Savage, who featured on the original studio version of the track.
