Abimbola and his brother Olabinjo testified on Thursday providing evidence to dispute claims that have been made against them by Smollett and his defense team. During his testimony, Abimbola stated he is not homophobic and has worked several Pride events during his time as a bouncer at a gay club called Boystown. Photo evidence was provided to the jury where one photo shows Ola dressed as a Trojan warrior and he explained that he was handing out condoms at the venue.

Additionally, Smollett’s attorney questioned Abimbola about his alleged sexual relationship with the actor. He has denied all claims and said he only thought of Smollett as a friend, not a lover.
