Longtime news anchor Ken Rosato was fired earlier this month after calling his co-anchor Shirleen Allicot a “c**t” on a hot mic. According to the Daily Mail, it was originally believed that he made a racist comment about Allicot, but his agent confirmed that he called her a c***. The studio has yet to comment on the situation, and a source said Rosato’s comment about Allicot was made when he was off the air.

His former colleagues were also informed about his termination via email, but the reason was not disclosed. Rosato was hired as a freelance reporter for ABC 7’s Eyewitness News and was hired as an anchor in 2007. Until his firing, he remained the host of ‘This Morning’ alongside Allicot, Heather O’ Rourke, and Sam Champion.

The studio also deleted his profile on the official website, and his last tweet was posted on May 2.

Viewers who watched the anchor for years responded to his termination and said they will miss his morning segments. “Ken Rosato The main reason to watch early a.m. news. He will surely be missed,” one Twitter user said.

Another wrote, “sick of ABC firing the people that I loved watching on their station. Ken Rosato was a delight to watch as were Amy Robach & TJ Holmes. Your zero tolerance has become my zero tolerance no longer watch GMA3 the draw is not there.”
