Marciano joined ABC News as a senior meteorologist in 2014 and was previously warned and temporarily removed from his role due to concerns over “anger management issues.” According to Page Six, Marciano was prohibited from entering the “Good Morning America” studio in Times Square in March 2023 after executives started to receive complaints about his behavior, making colleagues feel uneasy in the workplace. “He was found to have done something … that was improper, but he was punished for it, and they still haven’t let him return,” a source explained to the outlet.

The behavior reportedly escalated amid his divorce from Eryn Marciano, his wife of 11 years, with whom he shares two children. The divorce was filed in June 2021, possibly contributing to his workplace behavior. ABC News did not release a statement detailing his termination, and Marciano did not comment on his firing as he was still posting ABC News content on his social media pages.

His last post included a storm chaser video from Nebraska, hours before his firing was made public. Social media users also commented on his firing, as Marciano was known to be one of the popular journalists on the network. “Wasn’t he on air just a few weeks ago? I think you reported that he had been relegated to weekends, and last time I saw Rob, he had a beard—looked rather disheveled,” one user wrote on X(formerly known as Twitter). Another user said they just saw him during a segment of “Good Morning America” over the weekend.
