Aaron Carter died just one day after cops had visited his home for a welfare check, it’s been reported. According to TMZ, Aaron, who died on Saturday, had last been seen at 2 AM on Friday, when police had shown up at his home. While it’s unclear who had made the call, the “Go Jimmy Jimmy” singer ended up telling them to leave, which would have implied that everything was fine.

Then, on Saturday morning, his housekeeper knocked on his bedroom door to see whether Aaron wanted a cup of coffee, to which she received no response. But because Aaron’s dog, who was inside his bedroom, had been barking so loudly, the housekeeper decided to open the door, where she would go on to find his body in the tub.

When cops showed up once more, law enforcement sources tell TMZ that the body had already begun to decompose, while the color of the water had changed to “an unnatural color.” Police also took note of several compressed air cans in both Aaron’s bedroom and bathroom, among prescription pills. While an official cause of death has yet to be revealed, it looks as if police officials are beginning to uncover more evidence that could have contributed to Aaron’s tragic demise.

In a video posted to her TikTok page, Aaron’s ex-fiancée, Melanie Martin, broke down in tears as she recorded herself while driving. It’s unclear when the video was taken, but given her state, it would seem to have been filmed after his death on Saturday.

The ex-couple had called it quits on their relationship in February, just months after breaking up following the birth of their son. While the pair lived a relatively private life, it would appear as if Aaron’s alleged issues with mental health may have played a part in the romance being called off on multiple occasions.

Aaron’s older brother, Nick Carter, has since taken to Instagram with a statement of his own. He said, “My heart has been broken today. Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded. I have always held onto the hope, that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed.”

Aaron was only 34 years old at the time of his death. R.I.P.
