A$ap Rocky is proving himself to be Rihanna’s biggest fan as he gushed about his excitement for her upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show performance. In less than a month, Rih-Rih will grace the stage at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, which will be her first time performing in five years — so, understandably, the expectations are high.
During his recent interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, the “Fashion Killa” rapper expressed his elation by saying he’s happy to finally see Rihanna making music again, seemingly hinting that a new album could potentially be in the works. “Oh, man. I’m just as excited as you guys, if not more,” he told Lowe. “Yeah, I’m super excited. This is huge. This is incredible. I’m so glad that my lady’s back making music again and whatnot, and getting back out there.”

Details pertaining to her halftime show are being kept tightly under wraps, but going off on what Rocky has shared, “She going to bring it, man. I’m excited. I’m more excited than everybody else, honestly.” Unconfirmed reports have since claimed that Rihanna could be announcing a world tour and the release of her ninth studio album after she blazes the stage with her 12-minute set, though the singer herself has yet to make the official announcement.
In the lead-up to her Super Bowl performance, Rihanna has already dropped a string of teasers that were sure to get her people’s excitement going, as well as Savage X Fenty Game Day collection merch for fans to wear as they watch Rih-Rih perform a medley of her hits dating back to her first album, “Music Of The Sun,” in 2005.
“We are thrilled to welcome Rihanna to the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show stage,” NFL Head of Music, Seth Dudowsky, announced in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter back in September. “Rihanna is a once-in-a-generation artist who has been a cultural force throughout her career. We look forward to collaborating with Rihanna, Roc Nation and Apple Music to bring fans another historic Halftime Show performance.”

The Bajan beauty hasn’t dropped an album since the release of her eighth record, “Anti,” back in January 2016, which spanned several hit singles, including “Work,” “Kiss It Better,” “Needed Me,” and “Love On The Brain.” As the excitement for Rihanna’s Super Bowl Halftime Show continues to build, so is the anticipation for the release date for a new body of work.
