A$AP Rocky Found Guilty Of Assault In Sweden

On Wednesday, a Swedish court delivered a verdict in A$AP Rocky’s brawl case and ruled that the rapper was guilty of assault. The two members from his crew who were involved in the brawl were also found guilty of assault by the court. However, Rocky will not serve any more jail time, having already spent over a month in a Swedish detention center.

Rocky, who was not in court for Wednesday’s proceedings, claimed during trial that his actions were in self-defense and should not be considered assault. Rocky claimed via Instagram that the two men followed him and his team for multiple blocks and also harassed women on the street. Once the men refused to walk away, Rocky and his team reacted out of fear that something would happen to them.

After reviewing video tapes and further investigation, the courts said the defendants “were not in a situation” where they were entitled to self-defense and that they “assaulted the victim by hitting and kicking him,” according to the Associated Press.

Rocky has not spoken out on these latest updates. However, following his release from jail on he did express gratitude for the wave of support he’d received from fans, friends, and family during what he considers a “difficult and humbling” period in his life.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of my fans, friends and anyone across the globe who supported me during these last few weeks,” he said at the time. “I can’t begin to describe how grateful I am for all of you. This has been a very difficult and humbling experience.”
