Recapping Rihanna And A$AP Rocky’s Romantic Relationship
Rihanna, born Robyn Fenty, and A$AP Rocky, born Rakim Mayers, first became close after the rapper joined the singer’s ‘Diamonds‘ World Tour in 2013. Riri would also star in Rocky’s music video for “Fashion Killa” later that year.
Rumors of Rihanna, 37, and Rocky’s romance shortly began surfacing then, and especially after her split from billionaire boyfriend Hassan Jameel in January 2020. The two were together for three years. A source told PEOPLE that “their lives were too different, and it was hard to maintain a relationship.”
Meanwhile, Rocky, 37, was dating Kendall Jenner from 2016 to 2017. Shortly after Rihanna and Jameel’s split, she and Rocky were spotted together more often. Since 2020, Rihanna and Rocky have officially been together.

In January 2022, the couple announced they were expecting their first child together. Rihanna debuted her baby bump while strolling through the streets of New York City. Less than five months later, on May 13, 2022, Rihanna and Rocky welcomed their firstborn son, RZA Athelston Mayers, 3. He was named after the leader of the Wu-Tang Clan, producer and rapper RZA, born Robert Fitzgerald Diggs.
In February 2024, during her iconic Super Bowl Halftime Show performance, Rihanna revealed she was expecting her second baby with Rocky. She debuted her growing baby bump on stage. On August 1, 2023, Rihanna and Rocky made baby RZA a big brother after welcoming their second son, Riot Rose Mayers, 2.

In May 2025, Rihanna and Rocky revealed they were expecting baby number three. The “We Found Love” singer debuted her third baby bump during hours ahead of the 2025 Met Gala in New York City. The incident happened just before Rocky hit the red carpet, where he later confirmed the news.
Rocky told the press, “It feels amazing. ’s time that we show the people what we was cooking up. And I’m glad everybody’s happy for us ’cause we definitely happy, you know.” At the event, where Rocky served as co-chair, Rihanna later hit the carpet with more angles of her growing belly.
On September 13, 2025, Rihanna gave birth to her and Rocky’s third child, a beautiful baby girl named Rocki Irish Mayers. Riri mad the announcement on September 24. In an interview published on the same day, Rocky told ELLE that they were “praying for a girl.” He said, “I feel like it’s going to be a girl. This pregnancy is so different from the other two. You can tell from the experience. I hope it’s a baby girl, man. I need that.”
A$AP Rocky Dubs Himself Rihanna’s Husband Again, Talks Finding Peace And Happiness In Being Her Partner And Father To Their Three Children
In a new interview with Perfect Magazine, published on October 29, A$AP Rocky dubbed himself Rihanna’s husband while revealing how he finds peace and happiness in being her partner and father to their three children. Rocky, who often prefers his privacy for his loved ones, opened up about his blossoming family with Riri.
When asked about his greatest satisfactions and when he feels most happy, he said:
“I think peace really makes me happy. Being a father and a partner and a loving husband in my family is what makes me really, really happy. I hope this doesn’t sound cliché, and I would hate if it does, because that’s what honestly does get me going: being able to express myself creatively, being able to be a family man and being able to be an artisan. It doesn’t matter what hat I wear that day, it’s just about being able to give it my all and do these things.”
In the interview, Rocky also said that he tries to give 99.9 percent of his “attention, tender love, and care” to everything he does. However, when it comes to being a family man, he gives it his all, a full 100 percent.
Now this isn’t the first time Rocky has dubbed himself a husband to Rihanna. In the above-mentioned September 24, 2025 interview with ELLE, Rocky talked about his and Rih’s work/home life balance. He said. “We don’t talk too much about work, because we deal with that all day, every day. When you come home, it’s about family. It’s about your relationship. It’s about your household. It ain’t about all that other sh*t.”
When asked if he was looking forward to being a husband, he quipped, “How you know I’m not already a husband?” While laughing, he insisted, “I’m still not gonna confirm it.”
