President Donald Trump emphasized yesterday, local time, that his pledge to pay a dividend of USD 5,000 (approx. 6.71 million won) to every American adult will definitely be fulfilled, urging voters to cast their ballots for the ruling Republican Party in the midterm elections.

President Trump wrote on social media Truth Social that day, “Because of the trillions of dollars in economic development, investment, and sheer success our country is experiencing, the USD 5,000 Trump Dividend for every American adult—which is being criticized by ‘Dumocrats’ (a combination of ‘Democrats’ and ‘Dumb’) who desperately hope this policy never happens—will become a reality.”

He then cited his successful push—overcoming opposition from the opposition party—to pass a massive tax cut bill last year and to provide a special dividend of USD 1,776, symbolizing the founding year of the United States (1776), to U.S. service members.

President Trump went on to emphasize, “When I say something, I mean it. The USD 5,000 dividend will happen because it’s what Americans deserve,” before urging, “Vote Republican.”

President Trump announced the pledge during his keynote speech on the 9th, the opening day of the Republican midterm convention held in Dallas, Texas.

Democratic politicians fiercely criticized the move, stating, “Trump wants to buy your vote with blood money funded by taxpayers’ taxes” and calling it “corrupt and blatantly illegal.”
