A South Carolina teacher assistant is facing charges after authorities say he used “poop spray” inside a high school, causing tens of thousands of dollars in damages and health concerns for students.
The Arrest
According to NBC News, 32-year-old Alexander Paul Robertson Lewis was arrested Friday and charged with disturbing schools and malicious injury to property. The Florence County Sheriff’s Office said the incidents took place at West Florence High School between August 25 and September 15.
The spray is marketed as a prank item and produces a foul odor resembling human feces. In this case, authorities state that Lewis used it on multiple occasions, resulting in serious consequences. Some students reportedly sought medical attention for respiratory issues linked to exposure, and the school’s air conditioning system required costly repairs. Damages are estimated at $55,000. “The investigation into this matter is ongoing, and additional charges are possible,” investigators wrote in a Facebook post.
