According to CBS Sports, a press release from CSI Sports stated that Tyson and Mayweather have officially signed on for a match. However, the date and location where the two legends will meet remains under wraps. Mike Tyson, the former heavyweight champion with a 50-7 record, shared in the release:

“When CSI came to me about stepping in the ring with Floyd Mayweather. I thought, ‘No way this happens,’ but, Floyd said yes. This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen. However, boxing has entered a new era of the unpredictable — and this fight is as unpredictable as it gets. I still can’t believe Floyd wants to really do this. It’s going to be detrimental to his health, but he wants to do it, so it’s signed and it’s happening!”

Tyson recently made his return to the ring after 19 years of retirement. He did so while facing Jake Paul on Netflix in a bout that had fans glued to the screen. His willingness to take on new challenges has kept his legend alive, and this new exhibition match might be his biggest surprise yet.

Meanwhile, Floyd Mayweather Jr. remains confident and unapologetic about his dominance. The undefeated legend, who retired in 2017 with a flawless 50-0 record after defeating Conor McGregor, has continued entertaining fans with high-profile exhibition matches. Most recently, he faced John Gotti III in August 2024. Mayweather, former welterweight king, made it clear in the press release promoting him and Tyson:

“I’ve been doing this for 30 years and there hasn’t been a single fighter that can tarnish my legacy. You already know that if I am going to do something, it’s going to be big and it’s going to be legendary. I’m the best in the business of boxing. This exhibition will give the fans what they want.”
