A Kentucky woman is facing serious charges after authorities say she caused more than $12,000 in damages to her ex’s vehicle by pouring glitter into its air conditioning vent and salt into its engine.

According to Local 12 News, 31-year-old Stephanie Calrquist was arrested on Thursday after her ex reported multiple incidents of vandalism, including tire slashing, broken mirrors, and a busted radio screen in Richmond.

Timeline of the Damage

Court documents detail a destructive timeline beginning on July 6, when Calrquist allegedly slashed one of her ex’s tires.

On July 15, following an argument, she reportedly escalated matters:

  • Poured glitter into the car’s air conditioning vent
  • Dumped salt into the engine
  • Cracked the windshield
  • Cracked the rearview mirror
  • Smashed the radio screen

Unable to drive due to the earlier tire slashing, her ex says he tried to walk away from the argument. But the damage was already done.

Her Messages and Apologies

Despite the destruction, Calrquist reportedly reached out to her ex via social media, apologizing and citing stress from her pregnancy.

She also sent emails offering to either pay for the damages or buy a brand new car to make things right. Her ex told his mother, who co-owned the vehicle, about the damage.

Her father later contacted the man directly, saying he wanted to “come to a better solution than Stephanie taking a felony charge, so nobody gets hurt anymore.”

Total Cost of Damages

The vehicle was towed to Goodyear for inspection, where the total damage was estimated at $12,464.96.

In addition to the glitter and salt damage, the cracked windshield, broken rearview mirror, and busted radio screen all contributed to the high repair costs.
