Donald Trump claims Jeffrey Epstein “stole” young female staff from Mar-a-Lago’s spa
President Donald Trump is once again addressing his fallout with Jeffrey Epstein, saying that Epstein “stole” Virginia Giuffre and other young female employees from Mar-a-Lago’s spa. The comments came during an interview with the Daily Mail on Monday, while Trump was returning from a trip to Scotland.
“She worked at the spa,” Trump said, referencing Giuffre’s role at his Palm Beach club. He added about Epstein, “He stole her.”
Trump told reporters, “Everyone knows the people that were taken. People were taken out of the spa hired by him.”
Trump explained that Epstein poaching his staff led to their eventual split. “I didn’t know that. And then when I heard about it, I told him, I said, Listen, we don’t want you taking our people, whether it was spa or not spa. I don’t want you taking people. And he was fine. And then not too long after that, he did it again. And I said, out of here.”
Giuffre, who tragically died by suicide in April, was one of the most outspoken survivors against Epstein and his longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell. She previously stated that she was recruited into Epstein’s sex ring by Maxwell in 2000 when she was just 16 and working as a locker room attendant at Mar-a-Lago.
Virginia Giuffre’s connection to Mar-a-Lago and Epstein’s network
Before her death this year, Virginia Giuffre had become one of the strongest voices against Epstein and Maxwell, detailing her traumatic experiences in interviews and court cases. Trump noted that Giuffre “had no complaints” about her time working at Mar-a-Lago. “She had no complaints about us, as you know, none whatsoever,” he said.
Trump banned Epstein from Mar-a-Lago in 2004 after learning he had taken staff from the club. However, both Epstein and Maxwell were previously photographed attending events at the Palm Beach club alongside Trump and his then-girlfriend Melania Trump.
Giuffre’s death brought renewed focus on Epstein’s vast network of abuse survivors. Many continue to call for full accountability for those connected to his crimes.
Trump doubles down on his Epstein ban at Mar-a-Lago
Trump said his decision to ban Epstein was firm. He recalled confronting Epstein directly: “I told him, I said, out of here,” Trump emphasized. “And he was out. That was it.”
Although their friendship was widely known in Palm Beach’s elite circles, Trump has consistently stated that his relationship with Epstein ended because of Epstein’s behavior.
This isn’t the first time Trump has commented on the issue. He previously told reporters that banning Epstein was “an easy decision” once he learned about his misconduct.
