LeBron James Calls Out Stephen A. Smith Again After Their Confrontation

LeBron James is setting the record straight and doing it his way. The Lakers legend finally opened up about that viral moment with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, and let’s just say—he didn’t come to play. The clapback came during an interview on The Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday, March 26, where LeBron called out Smith for doing the most when it came to spinning the story.

When McAfee brought up the clip that had fans glued to their screens, LeBron kept it 100 and didn’t hold back:

“He’s like on a Taylor Swift tour run right now. It started off with, ‘I didn’t want to address it. I wasn’t going to address it, but since the video came out, I feel the need to address it.’ Are you kidding me? If there was one person that couldn’t wait for the video to drop so you could address it, it’s your ass. Like seriously?”

The whole crew laughed, but the message was clear: LeBron wasn’t feeling the way Stephen A. tried to flip the narrative.

Why LeBron Felt the Need to Protect His Family

The drama didn’t just come out of nowhere. The beef between LeBron and Smith started after the ESPN host made comments about Bronny James, LeBron’s son, and his performance with the Lakers. Now, LeBron’s never been the type to duck criticism—especially when it comes to the game. But when things got personal, that’s when he had to step in.

“Never would I ever not allow people to talk about the sport, criticize players about what they do on the court. That is your job. But when you take it and you get personal with it, it’s my job to not only protect my damn household, but to protect the players.”

This wasn’t just about basketball anymore. LeBron made it clear that if you cross the line from analysis to attack, especially when it comes to his family, you’re gonna hear from him. It’s a powerful message from one of the most respected voices in the league—a reminder that players are human, and their families shouldn’t be part of the media circus.
