A wild scene popped off during a NFL game today when the Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair laid a nasty hit on Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

With a little over four minutes left in the half, Lawrence was on the move, trying to pick up a first down.

He went to slide to dodge the hit, but Al-Shaair wasn’t having it—he came in hot and caught Lawrence in the head and neck. Lawrence hit the turf hard, and that’s when his teammates rushed in to defend their quarterback.

Once things calmed down, the refs started tossing out penalties left and right. Al-Shaair and Jaguars cornerback Jarrian Jones got the boot, while Jaguars tight end Evan Engram was slapped with an unnecessary roughness call.

Lawrence managed to sit up but ended up leaving the field on a cart. He finished the game 4-for-10 with 41 passing yards and an interception before the Jaguars officially ruled him out with a concussion.

The Texans were on a mission to bounce back after a tough loss to the Tennessee Titans last week, rolling into the game with a 7-5 record. Meanwhile, the Jaguars have been struggling all season, sitting near the bottom of the league standings and eyeing that potential No. 1 pick for the 2025 draft.
