NBA YoungBoy’s Bond Set At $100,000 In Prescription Drug Fraud Case

NBA Youngboy is currently facing multiple charges for a large prescription drug fraud case. 

The Baton Rouge rapper made a court appearance on Thursday, May 9th for his preliminary hearing when a Cashe county judge granted him bail, setting the amount to $100,000. His arraignment is scheduled for July. As we previously shared, Youngboy was taken into custody on April 16 after a months-long investigation into what authorities claims in an “ongoing criminal enterprise.”

Investigators claim that Youngboy and several of his crew members utilized fake names and appropriated a pharmacist’s identity to illegally request and obtain promethazine and codeine prescriptions from various pharmacies throughout Utah. The rapper is now being charged with 63 offenses, which include possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted individual, identity fraud, attempting to obtain drugs or prescriptions, forgery, and possession of marijuana.

Since 2021, the rapper has been under house arrest in Utah as a condition of his bond agreement related to firearms charges from a 2020 arrest during a music video shoot.

A federal judge in Baton Rouge has granted a request from federal prosecutors to arrange a hearing to revoke his bond following his arrest in Utah.

Youngboy’s attorney spoke out about the case by issuing a statement that briefly read: “Everyone is presumed innocent and he has been falsely accused in the past.”
