Disney is gearing up for the release of Mufasa: The Lion King, which is a new prequel to the 2019 blockbuster live-action Lion King.
On Monday the trailer for the film was released and has quickly made rounds on social media. Beyoncé will reportedly return to the film for her role as Nala. In more shocking news, her daughter Blue Ivy has also landed a role in the prequel starring as Kiara – the daughter of King Simba and Queen Nala.
The official summary of the movie reads: “Simba, having become king of the Pride Lands, is determined for his cub to follow in his paw prints while the origins of his late father Mufasa are explored.”
Since the news first the hit the internet Blue Ivy Carter has been trending on X. It’s great to see Blue make another big accomplishment. As we all know, she recently got off tour with Mother, Beyoncé for the Renaissance tour where she had to overcome some battles to stay on the show.
As we previously shared, Tina Knowles made an appearance on The Sherri Shephard Show and spoke about what it was like seeing her granddaughter, Blue Ivy perform during Beyonce’s Renaissance tour and what she had to overcome to stay apart of the act. “Me and her dad we were together every night and he would come to the front where I was and watch that. I was in tears and he was grinning so hard thought his face would hurt.” Tina Knowles went on to explain how she was nervous for Blue Ivy to take the stage on the first night because of her age. “She’s only 11 years old and to get in front of 70 thousand people at 11 is huge.”
During the conversation, Sherri Shepherd asked if Blue Ivy understood the magnitude of what she was doing each and every night. “I don’t think so,” Tina Knowles replied. “She just loves to dance and she was watching the girls rehearse and she said, ‘I think I’m ready to go on stage’ and her mom said no no I don’t think so Blue and then she thought about it and said if you work hard and you really come with it then we’ll let you go one time. So it was supposed to be a one-time thing.” Following the “magical” moment she actually ended up staying on the whole tour!
