It is almost Halloween, so we had to get spooky and sit down with the legendary mind behind the iconic doll that has been terrorizing us for decades!
Chucky and the “Child’s Play” franchise was created by Don Mancini, who has been involved in writing and directing several films and now the series. Chucky has developed a dedicated fan following over the years and the timeless nature of the movies and series has appealed to many different generations since the 80s with Chucky taking on many different storylines and appearing in a variety of locations, making him the scariest horror icon because he could appear in your backyard!
We sat down with the man behind it all, Don Mancini to get into the world of Chucky and how the killer doll has been timeless when it comes to terrorizing us for generations. Chucky is arguably one of the iconic figures of horror alongside the likes of Jason, Michael Myers, and more and over the past few years Chucky has taken over our screens right at home as a series, and now that we are on the third season, the killer doll has taken over the biggest house yet, the White House.

Mancini shared how Chucky’s origin came about and the method behind the madness, including exactly how Chucky, aka, Charles Lee Ray was created, and his name is based on a few notorious killers from back in the day. No wonder Chucky is so ruthless. Mancini also shared what it felt like to have created such a successful horror icon and how Chucky has managed to live through decades of victims and now he is in the White House!
This season Chucky also begins to age, and deteriorate, something which we have not seen in the past. Does this mean there is an end to the immortal doll? We also had to know the inside scoop on whether the killer doll could partner up with any past or present horror rival, including creepy doll M3GAN and even taking Chucky into the sleep world with Freddy Krueger.
