Another Hollywood couple has called it quits.
Jodie Turner-Smith and Joshua Jackson are now joining the growing list of celebrities who are ending their marriage in 2023. According to @tmz_tv, the British actress/model just filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for splitting after more than three years together.
According to the docs obtained by the news site, Jodie is asking for joint custody of their 3-year-old daughter, Juno. In addition to that, she wants to take spousal support off the table for both her and her ex-hubby. To note, there is no pre-up in place per the outlet.

Fans always had mixed feelings about their relationship as the pair spoke about it in past interviews. Some raised eyebrows when it was revealed that Turner was the one who proposed to Jackson. While it’s a common thing, some social media users didn’t seem to be here for the revelation.
While appearing on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” in July 2021, the former “Dawson’s Creek” star revealed she had actually proposed to him. He said at the time, “She asked me, yeah, on New Year’s Eve. We were in Nicaragua. It was very beautiful and incredibly romantic. We were walking down the beach and she asked me to marry her.” He said he had no clue that she was even going to do it “But she was quite adamant. And, she was right. This is the best choice I ever made.”

In a follow-up interview with Refinery29 in August 2021, he did clarify some details about the proposal. He explained, “What I didn’t say in that interview was there was a caveat, which is that I’m still old school enough that I said, ‘This is a yes, but you have to give me the opportunity.’”
He continued, “She has a biological father and a stepdad, who’s the man who raised her. (I said), ‘You have to give me the opportunity to ask both of those men for your hand in marriage.’ And then, ‘I would like the opportunity to re-propose those to you and do it the old-fashioned way down on bended knee.’ So, that’s actually how the story ended up.”
Jackson, 45, has also previously said that he didn’t think he was ever going to get married. But that all changed when he met Turner. The two tied the knot in 2019 and welcomed their daughter in 2020.
Neither of them has publicly spoken out on the news about their divorce. Meanwhile, she’s scheduled to make her next public appearance at the end of the week for Step Up’s annual Inspiration Awards in Los Angeles, where she’s set to be honored for being a role model.
