If you haven’t been able to attend the incredible Renaissance tour or just want to feel like you’re at a concert again, then it looks like you’re in for a great treat!
After a bunch of online talk and speculation about an upcoming project, superstar Beyoncé has finally confirmed that a new Renaissance concert film will be dropping in theaters! That’s right! The singer shared the trailer to her official Instagram account Sunday night along with the caption that read, “Be careful what you ask for, ‘cause I just might comply.”
The cool trailer shows behind-the-scenes footage of Bey rehearsing with her eldest daughter, Blue Ivy, 11, who has been dancing with her on the tour. It also captures the cute moments her husband Jay-Z and their twins Rumi and Sir cheer them on while onstage. In the trailer, Beyonce can be heard saying, “When I am performing, I am nothing but free,” the musician, 42, says in the trailer for Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé. “My goal for this tour was to create a place where everyone is free and no one is judged.”
The official description of the film reads: “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé accentuates the journey of Renaissance World Tour, from its inception, to the opening in Stockholm, Sweden, to the finale in Kansas City, Missouri. It is about Beyoncé’s intention, hard work, involvement in every aspect of the production, her creative mind, and purpose to create her legacy, and master her craft. Received with extraordinary acclaim by International and U.S. media alike, Beyoncé’s outstanding performance during Renaissance World Tour created a sanctuary for freedom, acceptance, and shared joy. Its maximalist production welcomed more than 2.7 million fans from around the world, who travelled across oceans to enjoy Club Renaissance. Now, millions of moviegoers will get caught up in the Joy Parade, the monumental dance party that celebrates everyone’s right to be themselves, close to home.”

Now as many know, this wouldn’t be Beyoncé’s first time releasing a film based off her concerts. Most notably, she dropped her Netflix documentary Homecoming, which revealed the making of her iconic 2018 Coachella headlining set.
Following her trend, other musicians have also began documenting their own concerts and creating them into films, including Lewis Capaldi to Billie Eilish.
Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour movie is also coming up and will be distributed directly via the AMC Theatres cinema chain in the US, bypassing traditional distributors. Variety reported that as with Swift’s film, Beyoncé will receive in excess of 50% of box office grosses.
