As we previously shared, Spears, 41, left fans concerned after she uploaded a new dance routine to her Instagram, where she incorporated knives. On Monday (September 25), Spears shared a clip of her dancing with knives in each of her hands. She captioned the post, “Started playing in the kitchen with knives.”

In a follow-up post, she wrote, “I know I spooked everyone with the last post, but these are fake knives that my team rented from Hand Prop shop in LA. These are not real knives. No one needs to worry or call the police. I’m trying to imitate one of my favorite performers Shakira … a performance I was inspired by !!! Cheers to us bad girls who aren’t afraid to push boundaries and take risks 💅🏼💅🏼💅🏼!”

In the clip, Spears, who was inspired by Shakira‘s recent stunt at the MTV VMAs, is seen rubbing the blades of the knives together while simultaneously hitting some sharp dance moves. Besides dangerously dancing with the sharp daggers, fans showed concern claiming they saw cuts on the singer’s thigh, coupled with a bandaged wrist.

After the knife-dancing video and concerns about the singer cutting herself, either accidentally or intentionally, someone close to the singer ended up calling the police and making a report. According to TMZ, their law enforcement sources claimed that they received a call on Wednesday (September 27) from someone expressing deep concern for the singer.

Although Spears appeared to just be dancing as she usually does, having fun, out of an abundance of caution, “power hungry” police deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department decided to take the call seriously and drove up to Spears’ Thousand Oaks, CA house to perform a wellness check on her.

When deputies arrived at the singer’s house, they said they spoke to her, during which time she reassured them that she was okay after all of the concern from her knife-dancing video. Being that they directly spoke with the pop star, even though she didn’t want to continue speaking with them, they saw that she was okay and had no choice but to leave.

Following the visit, Spears and her lawyer were not here for the wellness check. Reportedly, her lawyer called the cops later that day to ask about the visit, during which time the “power hungry” police deputies assured him they were only following up on a call from someone who directly knew the singer, and that they did not react to fan concern.

Now, this isn’t the first time that Spears has received a visit from cops at her home. As we previously reported, earlier this year, cops performed a welfare check at her house after fans got concerned when her Instagram account disappeared. Upon returning to social media, the singer later revealed that she was fine, but annoyed by her unwanted visitors.

And it looks like she is having those same feelings again after her knife-dancing video incident. On Saturday (September 30), Spears took to her Instagram and shared a stock photo of a close-up shot of a ballet dancer’s feet in ballet shoes, standing on upright knives.

Spears captioned the post, “Is it a joke in the news again with welfare checks??? Come on America … We cooler than that, right??? The officers came to my home and said they would not leave until they spoke to me as people do 4-minute performances with them. I am getting an apology. I’ve been bullied in my home for so long now… ITS ENOUGH! Don’t talk about it, come on, let’s DO!!! As my mom does the silent treatment when paps ask questions about her own daughter as if I’m in the wrong… Nope it’s an old game. People need to be responsible for their actions! It’s about power for cops.”
