Amanda Bynes has reportedly left outpatient care for inpatient treatment as she continues to battle mental health issues.
According to TMZ, Amanda was tired of living alone and thought it would be a more therapeutic environment to receive inpatient treatment. The news outlet reported that the 37-year-old child star “checked herself into an intensive inpatient mental health treatment center in Orange County at the beginning of July.”
As we previously reported, the Nickelodeon star was detained by police officers and taken into custody for a mental health evaluation back in June. Bynes reportedly failed the evaluation and was deemed a danger to herself and those around her. In late March, we shared that Nickelodeon alum Amanda Bynes was placed on a psychiatric hold after she was found walking through the streets of Downtown Los Angeles naked. At the time, TMZ reported that the former actress had walked up to a stranger’s car, bringing them to a halt in the early morning hours, and told them she was suffering a psychotic episode.
It was also reported that Bynes’ parents, Lynn, and Rick, who previously had her under a nine-year-long court-appointed conservatorship, had no plans of putting her back into one, despite claims that she had been “abusing” prescription drugs.
Bynes remained hospitalized for about two additional weeks after her first week admitted as a result of her incident in DTLA. She even brought in her 37th birthday in a facility. According to TMZ, they updated that Bynes told officials that she was not yet ready to leave and return to life at home.
A week after bringing in her 37th birthday, it was reported that Bynes was now ready to leave the mental health facility that she was committed to after being found naked and roaming the streets of Downtown Los Angeles.
It was then updated that Bynes and also the medical staff all agreed that she was healthy enough to get back to her day-to-day life at home. It was also reported that the ‘The Amanda Show‘ star was expected to begin outpatient treatment to ensure that she remains healthy and on a straight path. She was reportedly expected to work with doctors and specialists to continue getting her the help she needs to move forward.
