A former transgender lawmaker in New Hampshire has recently been charged with sexual exploitation of children at a daycare center. 39-year-old Stacie Marie Laughton, who was born male but now identifies as female, is facing federal charges of aiding and abetting the sexual exploitation of children.
The charge of sexual exploitation of children can carry a prison sentence of up to 30 years.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Boston, Laughton, who is the first transgender legislator in the state of New Hampshire, was arrested in connection with the arrest of 38-year-old Lindsay Groves, who worked at Creative Minds Early Learning Center in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Boston said Groves, who allegedly dated Laughton at one point, allegedly took sexually explicit photos of the children that attended the daycare center where Groves worked.
On Tuesday (July 18), prosecutors in the case said that they possessed preliminary forensic evidence in Groves’ cellphone. They claimed to have found more than 10,000 text messages between she and Laughton, where they allegedly talked about, and transferred, explicit photographs that Groves had taken last year of children, who appear to be about 3 to 5 years old.
Per documents by the Justice Department, the text messages between the pair allegedly show them fantasizing with each other about having sexual intercourse with the young children. One text message allegedly shows Laughton asking Groves, “So you would let me f**k the little girls that you work with?”
Laughton allegedly continued to ask Groves, “And you’re not screenshot Ing this and possibly use it against me at all like we’re both on the same page we both want to do this and he would let me put my d**k inside those little girls I mean what if my d**k is too big I mean its big but its not that big I think you could fit in there and if it doesn’t fit all the way then I could stop I don’t want to hurt them.”
Groves allegedly replied, “If they want your d**k inside them.” Laughton allegedly then asked, “Would you let the little girls suck my d**k?” Groves allegedly replied, “It’s their choice.”
The documents by the Justice Department further alleged that Laughton instructed Groves to take a picture of her touching a child’s genitals. She allegedly sent Laughton a picture of her placing her hand “adjacent” to the child’s private area for Laughton’s sexual gratification.

Along with Laughton being charged, Groves was hit last month with charges of sexual exploitation of children, and distribution of child pornography, after being accused of taking and sharing nude photos of the daycare children aged 3 to 5 years old.
Elsewhere, it is noted that Laughton, who is a Democrat, was first elected to the New Hampshire state legislature in 2012, but resigned after a surfaced 2008 conviction for identity fraud. Laughton then ran again in 2020 and was re-elected in 2022, but resigned in December after being charged for stalking Groves.
