Ja Morant’s Team Allegedly Feels Like The NBA Is ‘Out To Get Him’

Ja Morant is still making headlines even after the NBA made the decision to suspend him for 25 games. 

As we all know, the NBA all star faced tons of backlash after being seen on Instagram live flashing an alleged gun for the second time. TMZ recently shared a video where Morant was seen demonstrating that the alleged gun he had was a lighter. Now reports are claiming that he and his team feel like the league is out to get him.

According to Tim MacMahon of ESPN, Ja and those around him believe the NBA and the media have an agenda going on. “I have heard indirectly that Ja and people close to Ja, perhaps people formerly close to Ja, have this feeling that the NBA out to get them,” MacMahon reported. “That the media is out to get them.” 

Mo Wells, the Director of Pro Sports for The Kollective, quote tweeted MacMahon’s report with a GIF of a “big cap” indicating that the report was false. 

Fans expected Ja to lose his endorsements and it’s not clear how many he lost but Nike made it very clear that they sticking beside him. 

Following the news of his suspension Nike released a statement and said they will continue to stand with Ja Morant. “We are pleased that Ja is taking accountability and prioritizing his well-being. We will continue to support him on and off the court.”

Morant also issued a statement following the NBA’s decision. “I’ve had time to reflect and I realize how much hurt I’ve caused,” Morant said in the statement. “I want to apologize to the NBA, the Grizzlies, my teammates and the city of Memphis. To Adam Silver, Zach Kleiman and Robert Pera – who gave me the opportunity to be a professional athlete and have supported me, I’m sorry for the harm I’ve done.” He said. 

He added, “to the kids who look up to me, I’m sorry for failing you as a role model. I promise I’m going to be better. To all my sponsors, I’m going to be a better representation of our brands. And to all my fans, I’m going to make it up to you, I promise.”
