Marion Officer Fired Over Multiple Racist Facebook Posts – Allegedly Referred To MLK As ‘Martin Looter King’ And More

An officer from the Marion Police Department was fired after making alleged racist post on Facebook about Martin Luther King and and George Floyd. 

On Monday, the Marion chief of police was notified of some recent Facebook posts from Officer Chaz Foy’s personal account that raised concern. According to the report, Foy was just sworn into the police department the day before getting fired. Got allegedly made a post at the beginning of this month that read, “With gas hitting 4.89 and climbing, let’s all take a moment to appreciate better times.” Those “better times” he referred to were referenced in the picture attached, of George Floyd under the knee of former Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin.

In another post from 2021 the former officer also posted a photo of a black man with the caption saying, “Martin Looter King”

Marion Police Department Chief Angela Haley wasn’t having it once these were brought to her attention.

“I do not condone this type of behavior and will not tolerate it,” Haley said in a news release.
