Travelers have revealed the airlines they avoid flying when booking their trips in a recent survey.

The Vacationer, a travel resource site, asked 1,000 anonymous Americans which of the ten major US-based airline carriers they avoid flying. Spirit Airlines was the number one pick at 21 percent, and Allegiant Air landed second place at 16 percent. Additionally, American Airlines was third place at 14.40 percent, but Frontier Airlines came close at 14.30 percent, as reported by USA Today. Travelers picked these airlines due to their lack of customer service and communication.

Delta Airlines, JetBlue, Alaska Airlines, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, and Hawaiian Airlines were listed  at the bottom. Spirit Airlines was also vouched lowest in the 2023 American Customer Satisfaction Index based on data from April 2022 to March 2023 as reported by the New York Post.

However, a survey by Wallethub revealed that Spirit Airlines was the second best airline in the United States.

Spirit Airlines is an American low-cost carrier that has been operating since 1983. Based in Miramar, Florida, Spirit is known for its affordable fares and no-frills approach to air travel. While Spirit has faced criticism in the past for its fees and customer service, the airline has also built a loyal following of budget-conscious travelers who appreciate the value it provides.
