Jhene Aiko has opened up about her post-pregnancy journey and the weight she gained while carrying her son, Noah Hasani. As we previously reported, Aiko and Big Sean welcomed their baby boy back in November. And following Keke Palmer’s recent comments about celebrity moms feeling the need to snap back so quickly because it’s part of their job, there’s been a lot of talk about women being somewhat pressured to look their best after giving birth, especially when they see celebrities doing it so fast.
Well, the “While We’re Young” singer took to our comment section, sharing details about her weight-gain experience, noting that genetics tend to play a big part in how fast a woman gets her body back. “I thought I would keep some weight on me after I had my son in November, but breastfeeding is making me lose all the weight,” she wrote.

“My stomach is not as fat as it used to be, and that’s ok! My main concern is wanting to get stronger so I can hold him longer cuz he’s getting so big.” Aiko then went on to say, “I think genetics plays a big part in your ‘snapback’ and some of us actually want to KEEP the weight.” Her comment was met with heavy praise from fans who applauded her for not allowing herself to be pressured into trying to be the same size she was before welcoming her son, and that it’s okay to prioritize the needs of the baby over losing weight.
