LA Couple Allegedly Drugged ‘Lonely’ And ‘Suicidal’ Doctor Before Stealing Millions And Having Parties At His Beachfront Home Up Until His Death

Some very strong accusations are being made against a couple who allegedly pumped up a “lonely” manic doctor with drugs, during which time they are said to have stolen millions of his funds. The explosive report, as revealed by The Los Angeles Times, claims that Anna Moore and Anthony Flores allegedly manipulated Mark Sawusch, who had been struggling with suicidal thoughts and expressed erratic behavior, as they formed a close friendship with him before taking complete advantage of the man’s frail mental state.

Per the publication, Moore and Flores were able to embezzle a whopping $3 million and treated themselves to fancy parties, endless shopping sprees, and weekend getaway trips while allegedly keeping Sawusch drugged. Sources say the pair allegedly fed him LSD and psilocybin mushrooms and organized for him to be given weekly injections of ketamine, which allowed them to practically do whatever they wanted at his home for an entire year.

The pair met the doctor, who had a $60 million net worth, in Venice Beach, California, back in 2017, shortly after he had completed treatment in a rehab facility for attempted suicide. After forming a bond with the couple, he invited them back to his home to watch the sunset. Somewhere around this time, the doctor extended them an offer to stay with him, presumably because he was looking for some friendly company after his successful stint in a rehab facility. After Sawusch died in 2018, the outlet further claims that Moore and Flores allegedly intended of stealing another $20 million from him.

“It seemed like to me they just kept him drugged,” his massage therapist Dora Peterson said. “He was out of it. He couldn’t carry on a conversation.”

Because of how unstable his mental condition was at the time he had met the couple, Sawusch thought he had made some genuine friends and extended them with an offer to move into his home given that there was enough space. The doctor had no children and was single while his family lived outside of the country, so having some company around him after leaving rehab seemed like a smart idea at the time.

The couple is further alleged to have carefully monitored the surveillance cameras that were placed around the house to keep tabs on the doctor, who had faced several arrests for his manic episodes following his stint in rehab.

Moore and Flores, who are no longer together, are both arguing that their decision to provide Sawusch with drugs was simply to control his erratic antics, which had left him being put in jail on numerous occasions. During one particular incident in July 2017, just weeks after meeting the couple, Sawusch was arrested on a battery charge for assaulting someone in Santa Monica.

He was put under psychiatric care before the couple brought him back home, and these patterns allegedly occurred pretty frequently during the year they lived with him.
