Looks like Akon is letting his fans know it wasn’t him that made a tweet to Elon Musk. In a new tweet Akon spoke out saying, “My account was just hacked. This tweet didn’t come from me. Whom ever hacked my account, Please keep your personal opinions away from my profile respectfully.”
On Saturday afternoon the “Lonely” singer’s Twitter account made a tweet saying he’s not paying for anything that we helped build! “Back in the day, Twitter was begging musicians to stay on cause they didn’t have traffic, They came up with a verification process to protect accounts from fakes ones, now @elonmusk is taking that away and forcing us to pay- FYI, I ain’t paying shit for something we helped build.” The tweet read.

As we previously reported, Twitter Blue is a subscription-based service offered by Elon Musk. It provides users with a variety of exclusive features and perks, such as, undo tweet, reader mode, bookmark folders and much more. Furthermore Musk has even snatched some folks verified check mark for avoiding to pay for the subscription.
The New York Times made headlines over the weekend after losing their verified check mark on after Twitter CEO Elon Musk announced efforts to crack down on users avoiding payments for “Twitter Blue.”
Musk along with the official Twitter Verified account announced on Mar. 23 that the social media company would set a deadline of Apr. 1 for verified users to apply and keep their status. Those who refused to pay the $8 per month subscription for individuals or $1,000 per month for organizations would begin to lose both their blue check mark and verified status. In a tweet reply, Musk revealed that this could include the New York Times should it refuse to pay for a subscription. Shortly afterward, the publication’s main Twitter account lost its verified status.

Now Akon and other publications aren’t the only ones who spoke out against Elon Musk’s demands. Even NBA superstar, Lebron James publicity spoke out to say that he’s not paying for a damn thing! “Well I guess my blue check will be gone soon because if you know me I ain’t paying the 5.”
