On Thursday (March 30), we learned that a grand jury in Manhattan, New York voted to indict Trump over his role in the hush money payment scheme — thus making him the first president to ever be charged with a crime.
It is reported that the alleged scheme occurred during Trump’s 2016 presidential bid, and was a part of a cover up relating to an alleged affair — which Trump has continued to deny ever happening.
Since the news of his indictment, which has been expected for weeks, many people on social media, and beyond, have begun to rejoice, but Trump is reportedly livid.
While trying to continue maintaining his innocence, and accusing the Democrats and several law enforcement officials of “weaponizing our justice system to punish a political opponent,” Trump fired back at the indictment.

‘The Hill,’ reports that Trump said in a statement, “This is Political Persecution and Election Interference at the highest level in history.
From the time I came down the golden escalator at Trump Tower, and even before I was sworn in as your President of the United States, the Radical Left Democrats – the enemy of the hard-working men and women of this Country – have been engaged in a Witch-Hunt to destroy the Make America Great Again movement.
The Democrats have lied, cheated and stolen in their obsession with trying to ‘Get Trump,’ but now they’ve done the unthinkable – indicting a completely innocent person in an act of blatant Election Interference.”
