Tyga has responded to a 2022 lawsuit from United Kingdom-based company Kreation Technologies, which accused the “Rack City,” rapper of breaching a $500k contract for the promotion of a line of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline, Tyga is denying the claims of breach of contract and promissory fraud in his lucrative deal with Kreation Technologies and is instead requesting that a judge dismiss all claims of the lawsuit. The contract outlined Tyga, whose real name is Michael Ray Stevenson, and Newstyle Media would be paid a $500k minimum via payments — with the first $100k due within two days of the deal being executed. Tyga was participate in four NFT “drops” or releases in which he helped to “facilitate the design, creation, production, marketing, sale, and distribution of NFTs,” using the incorporation of his “name, image, likeness, music, and artwork.”
Kreation claims that Tyga failed to post about the project on Instagram or Twitter and also accuses him of canceling media interviews and social media appearances on Twitter’s Spaces and Reddit’s ‘Ask Me Anything’ forums. After releasing the project, Kreation claims they scrapped the project as a result of Tyga’s alleged lack of cooperation. Kreation also claims the failure of the drop caused its business substantial harm. However, Tyga has outright denied Kreation’s claims and has accused the company of seeking a “bailout,” for a “bad deal,” they made amid the downturn in the cryptocurrency market.
“The Agreement turned out to be a bad deal for [Kreation] not because of any actions or non-performance of [Tyga] but because the cryptocurrency market loudly and publicly crashed during the term of the Agreement. [Kreation] now seeks a bailout for its failed investment and sued NSMG and [Tyga],” the court documents state.
In September 2022, The Blast reported that Kreation’s lawsuit alleged Tyga’s deal falling apart triggered issues with one of their newer strategic partners they were using as an NFT marketplace. The company says the marketplace received a letter from Tyga’s lawyer to remove the NFTs, and they complied based on a legal issue being in existence. However, Tyga maintains the failure of the NFT project nor the company’s loss is a result of his wrongdoing and argued he was not a party to the deal in question and should be dismissed.
Tyga has also been dealing with a 2016 lawsuit won by Choice Motors Credit, which claims T-Raww still owes over $1.3 million in outstanding payments. The West Coast rapper also made headlines recently following Blac Chyna’s interview on The Jason Lee show when she dropped the bombshell that Tyga kicked allegedly her out of his house in 2016 to date a then 16-year-old Kylie Jenner.
