Cynthia Bailey Claims Ex-Husband Mike Hill Cheated In Divorce Documents; He Denies Accusation By Insisting There Was An ‘Error’

UPDATE: A representative for Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill has released the following statement. “The initial divorce filing between Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill, which included inappropriate adulterous relations, was incorrect. The sole reason for the pending divorce is due to only irreconcilable differences. An amended petition is being filed immediately to correct that allegation by the legal representation of Meachum and Associates.”

A statement from Cynthia Bailey continued, “My divorce from Mike Hill is not finalized. The reasoning for our separation & pending divorce is mutual based upon irreconcilable differences. I have never accused Mike of any inappropriate adulterous actions. We are and always will be friends and wish each other well.”

Despite her initial claims that there was no infidelity going on in her marriage, Cynthia Bailey’s recently-filed court documents say otherwise. As previously reported, the former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star announced in October that she and her ex-husband, Mike Hill, were divorcing after less than two years of marriage.

She claimed that the relationship simply didn’t work out and that the pair had drifted apart over time, but in docs filed in Fulton County, Georgia, on Thursday, Cynthia mentions “inappropriate relations” being the reason for the split. The legal paperwork to officially divorce her estranged husband read, “Petitioner [Bailey] is entitled to a divorce from the Respondent [Hill] due to inappropriate adulterous relations and moral ethics in his conduct.”

Mike has since issued a response to Page Six, asserting that there must have been an “error” in the court filing, adding that Cynthia’s legal team is supposedly “releasing statements retracting this,” though her representatives haven’t made any changes to the documents yet, nor has their client spoken out about an alleged mistake in the paperwork.

Interestingly enough, however, there were also a separate set of court documents mentioning how there had been a request made for a “motion to seal,” meaning that the divorce should be kept private due to the possibility of it raising “issues concerning both the moral character and embarrassing acts of one of the parties.”

The document read, “These facts are perceived to have a strong probability of potentially adversely compromising one of both parties’ reputation, image, business dealings, and will significantly harm the parties mentally, psychologically, financially and emotionally.”

At the time of their split, Cynthia firmly stood behind her words by dispelling rumors that Mike had not been faithful to her during their marriage. She called the rumors “annoying” and stressed that there wasn’t a time where Mike had ever cheated on her with another woman — at least not during the time she was with him.

“There was no infidelity to my knowledge. Mike never had sex with another woman during our marriage,” she expressed to PEOPLE. “At the end of the day, it just came down to a number of things. And I respect Mike and respect our marriage too much to go into the details of those things, but it was nothing scandalous, we just outgrew each other.”
