Bianca Palomera, 19, began working at the Habit Burger Grill in Antioch when the attack happened on Saturday night. Palomera said to KRON 4 that she saw a teenager who looked to be in high school harassing her coworker’s brother. When the suspect began to disturb the other youngster when he was there to pick up his sister, Palomera advised him, “You can just leave.”

She stated that the suspect started calling her racist names throughout the altercation and assaulted her. Palomera suffered an eye injury and claimed that after doctors opened it, she could not see.

The suspect and his accomplices collected their food orders and fled in a gray BMW SUV from the restaurant. After the fast food worker’s story went viral on social media, over $31,000 was raised to help with Palomera’s medical expenses.

“Even though I did get basically disabled, or you know, I can’t see out of my eye, don’t be afraid to step up for somebody whether you know them or not. If you won’t do it, no one else will. If you’re scared to do it, at least let someone else know what’s going on. Two people is better than one.”

No further details about the suspect were released but the community hopes he can be arrested for the attacks.
