Sophia Grace Brownlee, who went viral following her appearance on “Ellen” back in 2011, has revealed the sex of her baby — and it’s a boy! The 19-year-old made the revelation on her official YouTube channel over the weekend, just weeks after she had told her fans she was pregnant and expecting her firstborn.
In the video, Sophia says she was doing the gender reveal for her followers because her family was already aware of the baby’s sex beforehand. She was going to cut a buttercream cake filled with either blue or pink food coloring and pop a balloon, in case it wasn’t already clear what gender she was having.

“So as you can see from the last few bits, I am having a boy!” she excitingly said. “When I first found out … I honestly wasn’t shocked because I just felt like from the start like I was going to be a boy-mom.” Sophia went on to share that her boyfriend, whose identity she has not yet revealed, was “so happy” about the news, “because I feel like most men do want a boy as their first baby.”
Sophia first announced her pregnancy back in October, much to the surprise of fans and those who had seen her multiple appearances on “Ellen” over the years. Sophia and her cousin Sophie made their debut on the talk show by singing their rendition of Nicki Minaj’s smash hit “Super Bass.”
What the girls didn’t know at the time was that Ellen had contacted Nicki to surprise them on stage, which would become one of the most-watched moments on the talk show’s YouTube channel, having amassed hundreds of millions of views in the process.

“I’m sure a lot of you are going to be very shocked because it probably was quite unexpected,” Sophia said when she first told her followers about her bundle of joy, further adding that she was 21 weeks along at the time she had filmed the video. “I was very shocked when I first found out. I got used to it now and I’m super, super happy about it. And I can’t wait to share this journey with you guys.”
