Kodak Black is demanding to have his Dodge Durango and $74,960 that was seized from him during his Florida arrest returned. Last month, the rapper was detained on drug charges after being pulled over for driving with illegally tinted windows, with officers later discovering that Black’s registration and license were both expired.
As previously reported, law enforcement officers ended up searching his vehicle where they found 31 oxycodone pills — which is often prescribed to people dealing with severe pain — and almost $75k in cash. The 25-year-old’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, argued that the drugs found in his car were given to him by his doctor for chronic pain resulting from a shooting in LA earlier this year. He was also said to be taking the pills to deal with injuries stemming from allegedly being assaulted by prison guards in 2020.

According to TMZ, however, while Black has already posted bail following his arrest, he still hasn’t gotten back his car nor the thousands of dollars in cash that were taken from him — and needless to say, he wants it back. Legal docs have been filed, requesting that his possessions are returned to him, further mentioning that the money was involved in no illegal activity for cops to have seized it for almost a month.
The Durango is reportedly registered to a Florida-based record label called Sniper Gang, of which Black is the manager. Furthermore, police have already taken the pills found in his vehicle, so there’s no reason why the car and the $75k are still being withheld.
After his arrest, Cohen took to Twitter, assuring fans not to believe everything they were reading in the press, which strongly implied that Black was innocent and that will be proven once the case is taken to trial.

“Never Judge a case based on an arrest,” he wrote. “There are always additional facts and circumstances that give rise to a defense, especially in this case. We will get him a bond today and move forward with resolving the matter quickly.”
Black tweeted about his detainment soon after his run-in with the cops as he mocked the officer who had booked him, tweeting, “Hey, I’m Officer Pinky Dick, the one on the news for arresting the rapper kid with the big dick and a lotta cash. Yeah, my daughter talks about it so much, I had to pull ’em over so I can feel it myself. No lie, bro felt like he had a shotgun in his front pocket.”
