DEBUT: Latin American Sensation MAR Launches Her Solo Career With Her Fiery New Track “QUÉDATE”
Singer, songwriter, performer; MAR is on the rise as a young musical prodigy and ambassador of her cultural roots. Born to a Cuban mother and Mexican father, her life has been filled with the rich sounds and rhythms of Latin American music, that are now being unleashed onto the world stage.
At 21, MAR is gearing up for her world premiere as a solo artist and composer. With her release on June 10th, and the video set to be distributed across all major channels, MAR is setting up a whole new scope for her image and musical reach by combining her instrumental talents with an innovative latin flare. Much more than just a release, “QUÉDATE” is said to be the first of many hits throughout the year.
As her first solo composition, performance, and creative foundation the song can hook any heart, and swing any set of hips; a testament to her multiple talents. Her melodic voice, and firey rythme create a smooth Latin style with that bumping urban pop. Perfectly reflecting the lyrics, the song describes a passionate pursuit of the heart, after being starstruck by the magnetic pull of a complete stranger. In her own words:
“This song reflects something that we live many times, where the people and experiences that move us the most happen at unexpected moments, where a connection drives us to do or say things to capture that moment, like the sun and the moon that in a moment are and later no longer.”
MAR has been juggling the love of the stage with her academic journey since she was 13. Beginning her performance career in modelling, she travelled across the United States and Mexico, even going down the LA, NYC runways. In 2013, she held her first large-scale performance at the Honda Centre in Anaheim California, which concretized both her dedication to music and her power in the limelight. “QUÉDATE” is her 3rd career recording since 2018, the single stands as one of the most anticipated releases in the industry, with a lifetime of hard work and talent behind it.
“I was exposed to concerts, rehearsals, recordings, instruments, etc., that was the great magnet and the “call” that prompted me to start writing songs while taking my classes. (…) I feel music deeply within my being and I am very excited to immerse myself in the unique language of each instrument and musical genre, I think we all have it inside.”
With her last videos on youtube hitting over 2 million views, and her socials getting hundreds of thousands of hits per post, MAR is already at the helm of a loyal fandom and is ready to show them what has been locked inside for so long. As she steps into this new challenge, MAR has made it clear that the music is about honesty, passion, vulnerability, and more than all raw truth, the kind that many are afraid to express.
