“Tiger King” star Joe Exotic is battling his estranged husband Dillon Passage in their ongoing divorce case after the latter filed a prenup, which Joe’s lawyer has labeled an intentional “money grab.” According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the prenup is supposed to keep the property and assets the pair bought into the marriage and purchased during their marriage separate. But from what’s been gathered by Joe’s attorney, Autumn Blackledge, his client has never signed off on the agreement, with Dillon having allegedly sold off several of his former flame’s belongings while he continues to face time behind bars.

Joe does not want to abide by the prenup, Autumn stressed, further accusing Dillon of forging an arrangement that would benefit him now that it’s been revealed Joe has amassed a lot of debt since being incarcerated. She believes that the Netflix star has a total debt of over $100 million, while his annual income brings in just under $8,000 and assets totaling $65,000.

A statement released by Dillon’s lawyer, Parastoo Majd, claims that the intention of putting the prenup in motion is to “protect him from Joseph’s debts, including debts owed to Carole Baskin.” Furthermore, she asserts that several witnesses were present when the prenup was first signed. “It is unfortunate that [Joe] feels he needs to be dishonest; however, not surprising given his character, criminal history, and jail sentence,” she said. “‘Tiger King’ is no longer, but [Joe] seemingly wishes to keep his name in the press under the cloak of this dissolution of marriage proceeding. We remain willing and able to have a settlement conference and I will be contacting the opposing side to present this course of action.”

In March, Dillon claimed he was in no rush to end his marriage to Joe, saying the pair were still on good terms despite the decision to call it quits. Joe, who is facing an astounding 22 years in prison, is believed to have had a heart-to-heart with his partner, where Dillon agreed he would stay married to the convicted felon for the time being.

At the time, TMZ had quoted Joe saying, “Me and Dillon have talked and we are not going to get in a hurry and get a legal divorce. This has been tough on both of us and he is going to do what he thinks he needs to do and I prefer to stay married right now so things don’t get complicated and if I live through this, great we will figure it out then.”

Dillon was also credited for helping Joe through some tough moments while incarcerated, and “he will continue to be my support.”
