Another Miami Beach apartment had to be evacuated due to concrete deterioration following the devastating collapse of the Chaplain towers.

The building located at 6881 Indian Creek Drive had be evacuated following the collapse of the Champlain Towers South condo building in nearby Surfside last month.

The representative of the owners of 6881 Indian Creek Drive, Manny J. Vadillo, said to6881 Indian Creek Drive that the city of Miami Beach posted a notice to evacuate the property.

“My clients are extremely sensitive to safety and, in fact, visited the property several times since last week to speak with tenants when communications started with the city to ensure tenants were not caught by surprise,” Vadillo said. “Some tenants have been there many years.”

Crestview Towers Condominium building was also evacuated after the North Miami Beach Building and Zoning Department said the facility was “structurally and electrically unsafe.”

“I can’t stress this enough: This is a very serious situation,” North Miami Beach City Manager Arthur Sorey III said. “We understand this has been extremely difficult for the residents who have been displaced, but the City has a legal and moral obligation to ensure their home is safe.”
