Jim Jones ‘Wanted To F**k Lil Wayne Up’ For Jacking His Hook For “Make It Rain”

While appearing on a recent episode of ‘The Joe Budden Podcast,’ Jim Jones recalls he “wanted to f**k Lil Wayne up” for jacking the Dipset rapper’s hook for his hit “Make It Rain.” Jones begins the conversation speaking about working with the late Stack Bundles, going on to explain the origins behind the chorus of “Weather Man,” ft. Bundles and Lil Wayne. Jones begins to compare that chorus to Wayne’s and Fat Joe‘s on “Make It Rain.”

Capo says, “I wanted to f**k Weezy up over that record, man. But Weezy’s my brother, you know I love him to death. But Weezy did some wacky sh*t when it came to that record. Remember he had a record with Fat Joe called ‘Make It Rain On ‘Em’? That was our hook. Now go listen to that record, and then pull up ‘Weather Man.’”

Jones then recalls confronting Wayne in the club after the track popped off. Wayne blamed the coincidence on all the drugs he consumed, which didn’t go over well with Jones, but didn’t get out of hand thanks to Juelz Santana standing nearby. Jones says, “I was ready to take it to the next level and Juelz really—I’ll never forget it. It was the MTV Awards show. … We was in the China Club when I seen him. And the homies just finished throwing somebody off the balcony in that b*tch. I’ll never forget that day. Right in front of Weezy.” Fortunately, the two never threw down and remained cool.
