Canadian Cop Caught On Camera Violently Arresting Skateboarder And Slams His Face On The Ground

An Ontario cop was captured on camera assaulting a skateboarder and slamming his face onto the pavement during an arrest.

The skateboarder was identified as 20-year-old Skyler Kent after he allegedly ran over a red light in front of the police officers. One of the officers grabs Kent and he screams “Get off of me!” as he’s being tackled to the ground. According to TMZ, the officer tells Kent to place his hands behind his back and places a taser on his head.

Witnesses can be heard in the background asking the officer to stop hurting Kent as he and his partner continue to physically restrain him. In one moment, the first officer grabs Kent by the hair and slams his face onto the pavement. After the violent encounter, officers charged Kent with causing a disturbance and assault while resisting arrest.

Barrie Mayor Jeff Lehman wrote on Twitter that the situation will be fully investigated, “I’ve seen the videos of the violent arrest on Dunlop Street. This will be fully investigated. I won’t be ignoring this, and once we have all the details, there will be full accountability.”

The officer has been placed on “alternative duties” as the incident is currently under investigation.
