Karl-Anthony Towns Praises Girlfriend Jordyn Woods For Holding Him Down During Tough Times Including Car Accident & COVID Battle

On Thursday, Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns took to social media to answer a few questions from fans. One asked, “How do you stay strong after overcoming so much?” The NBA player shared a lengthy response giving credit to his faith along with his support system: family, friends, and his girlfriend, Jordyn Woods.

He explained, “My woman has held me down more than the world knows. From my mother and family members dying (1 on her bday in Cabo), getting hit by a drunk driver (was 2 pm in the afternoon FYI) in LA this Off-season and staying with me in the hospital for the night and helping me in rehab, to this stint with COVID.”

Town 25-year-old went on to say, “She has been there with me every step of the way and stayed ten toes down. My love for her knows no bounds and I would be remiss if I don’t acknowledge the power a good woman can have in your life.” Before concluding he went on to say, “Men, treat your woman like a Queen so she can treat you like a King.”

As we previously reported, earlier this month, Towns revealed that he tested positive for COVID-19. In his statement, the athlete called on his fans to take the virus seriously and “stop the spread.” “I pray every day that this nightmare of a virus will subside and I beg everyone to continue to take it seriously by taking all the necessary precautions,” Towns wrote on social media. “We cannot stop the spread of this virus alone, it must be a group effort by all of us.”

At the time of his announcement, Towns’ girlfriend, Jordyn Woods, wrote a supportive message in the comments section of his Instagram post. “Praying for you baby. You got this. God’s got you,” she shared. According to PEOPLE Magazine, Woods hasn’t seen the Minnesota Timberwolves player “for a while” as “he’s still recovering” from COVID-19, the model shared on her Instagram Stories.

Towns’ diagnosis comes after his mother and six other family members died as a result of COVID-19 complications last year.
