The idea was directed and produced by Noelle Chesnut Whitemore and auditions for the roles were held last month. Whitemore told Medium that the concept started as a concept during a Clubhouse discussion with fellow creatives Bomani X and Myles Grier. While talking about the idea, she noticed another user, Chris “Boogie” Glover had the unique voice to perform as Mufasa and Myles started to recite Simba’s lines.

This Lion King performance on Clubhouse is extremely elite
and has returned me to that feeling of sitting cross-legged on the floor in front of the kindergarten teacher.
They should all be extremely proud. pic.twitter.com/afzKcO8Orn

The innovation. The PTR (pull to refresh) interactivity here, where designated cast members switch their screens to different Lion King scenes is incredible. Just magic. Love my people #LionKingCH pic.twitter.com/tk3osuhh3a
