Kelis Welcomes Third Child After “Intense Labor”
Just a month after announcing her pregnancy, Kelis has welcomed her third child, a baby girl!
The singer took to Instagram for a Live session on Saturday to share the big news. While speaking with fans, the 41-year-old Milkshake hitmaker revealed she gave birth to her baby following “intense’ labor,” and was planning to document her post-pregnancy weight loss journey.
“Hey, so I’ve been kind of MIA…but for a really good reason cause I just had my baby,” she said to viewers in her video. She went on to explain, “it was intense. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and I’m generally a really private person, with my personal life, but I wanted to kind of bring my fam into sort of talk about all of these women’s things we go through that no one really tells us about.” She then revealed, “I had my baby a week ago and I had a girl by the way – so very excited about that – it’s my first girl! I wanted to bring you into my process.”
Kelis is now dedicated to getting back in shape and is willing to share her health journey with fans. However, she did note that as of right now, “I can’t work out for the next six weeks and I don’t want to resort to wearing spandex for the rest of my life I want to show you how I plan on getting back into my high-waisted jeans, with just food, no exercise, and with just food.”
“When they weighed me in I was 236, big girl, from where I was, my girl was a big baby! So I’ve got about 60, 50 to 60 lbs left to lose to be able to get back into my high waisted jeans. Next week I want to start with the self-care, getting my skin back and just everything back into it’s tight supple that we want it to be always,” Daily Mail quotes.
As the new site notes, the Grammy-nominated singer has two sons: Knight, eleven, with ex Nas, and Shepherd, four, with husband Mike Mora.
